Icon Group ‘s Innovation Hub aims to foster creativity, stimulating the ability to generate ideas and driving the development of new products, services and processes. Our goal is to turn the business ideas of customers, employees, collaborators and partners into viable and successful projects.

The R&D Center in Guatemala is the culmination of the development of this idea and the heart of this area. A place to foster creativity and the exchange of opinions and experiences. through virtual spaces shared with other professionals and experts in different fields, with the aim of becoming a catalyst for the economic and social growth of the health sector in the Americas, taking advantage of its unbeatable geographical position from a strategic point of view, with points of connection with North America, South America and the Caribbean.

With this center we have put in place a structure that favors Disruptive Innovation to transform the traditional way of doing things. Our job is to understand the starting positions of the various participants and provide them with the tools to develop their project.

Areas of innovation

The Guatemala Innovation Center was created with the purpose of discovering and developing new business areas and exploring new ideas. Each of these projects, approaches and ideas will be studied by our Committee to assess their potential feasibility. Each project should be designed to meet one of these needs:

 

  • Medical Promotion: face-to-face, remote, hybrid or virtual
  • Patient monitoring
  • Training of work teams
  • Distribution processes

Objectives

At Icon Group, we are convinced that collaboration and personal growth of work teams are fundamental to foster innovation and development processes and take us to the next level. For this reason, we have included the culture of innovation in our strategic plan and established the following objectives:

 

  • Involve employees, customers and other strategic allies in the call for ideas.
  • Develop an incubator model to transform ideas into innovative projects.
  • Recognize, stimulate and reward the disruptive thinking of our employees.
  • Commercialize each of these projects in the market.

 

 

Methodology

In order to standardize the procedure for the study, development and implementation of the different innovation projects submitted to the Innovation Hub, we have appointed an Evaluation Committee that will be in charge of considering each of the ideas submitted. The methodology to be followed in the development and implementation of these projects is as follows:

  • Presentation of the proposal to the Evaluation Committee, following the guidelines of the format established for this purpose by the department (60 days).
  • Extension/modification of the same at the request of the Committee.
  • Notification of the result of the evaluation, which may be appealed within a period established for this purpose (60 days).

In order to study and understand the scope of these ideas, the Committee may rely on other members of the group’s Management team, especially in those areas where more specific knowledge is required.

  • Conversation analysis service between medical sales representatives and professionals to improve sales strategies.
  • Services related to the Digital Hospital with 24-7 telemonitoring as a way of optimizing resources without neglecting patient care.
  • Development of tools such as the creation of holograms or avatars.

From our Consulting area and within the framework of the development of innovation projects, we have designed new strategies to improve the service offered by our clients in the user’s acquisition or purchase experience, personalizing the different steps of the process from the moment the need is created until the product is acquired and used.

Innovation Projects - Sales Team

With regard to the HR department, we have developed projects in which we design specific training itineraries for sales teams adapted to the peculiarities of the market in which each client operates, as well as methods for monitoring and implementing continuous improvement to increase the performance of the work teams.
